So in my typical fashion I decided to watch the X-men movies 8 million years later and… the only one i liked was X-Men: First Class. It was more a fan-fic than a legit x-men story but it was a really good movie.

The rest of them seemed really random and all over the place and mildly awkward and illogical. Like there were aspects of them that i liked but standalone they weren’t very good. I thought I liked X2 but then towards the end of course things spun out of control. I’ve mostly kept adherence to the true story out of my opinion of the movies but in this I was just like really? How did Jean get saved by a flippin cosmic entity during a flood with her feet grounded pretty firmly on earth.

I enjoy when filmmakers take creative license. But it needs to make some kind of sense and be done well. X-Men: First Class for example, they went crazy with it, they were plucking characters from everywhere and dropping them into different time periods, it was crazy but it was crazy good. The trilogy… I can’t get on board with it. So I’m not going to spend another two hours to watch the third one in which apparently a character who will probably never die unless they create an alternate universe in which mutants are not a thing, dies. And even in an alternate universe he’d probably be alive with a whole host of other problems.

This from the girl who read all the Twilight books just because she wanted to finish what she started. Hey, reading bad books I don’t mind. Watching bad movies… no thanks, give me my 3 hours back.
